Our current President, Mickey Ford of Fast Glass, Inc., visited New Orleans the first of this week with NAWIC #137 President, Amy Thompson of Virtexco, Inc. They attended a party hosted by NAWIC Chapter #250 for 12 to 15 families (40+ people)that were victims of Katrina. Each child received 6 gifts, each parent one.
Mickey and Amy stayed with the sister and brother-in-law of local NAWIC Member, Pat Winston of American Coatings Corporation. The tour of New Orleans was a real eye opener for our ladies. The devestation caused by Katrina is felt in areas not even touched by the storm physically due to the lack of residents to keep business and life as usual going.
We count our own blessings this Holiday Season as we pray for the survival of those affected by natural disasters everywhere.
We pray for our troops overseas, and their speedy return to their homes and loved ones. We pray for them and their families to have a happy and healthy Holiday and Happy New Year.
